The weather has cooled down nicely
The weather has cooled down to a very comfortable temperature so I get to go for a walk with my mom every day. Sometimes we go for a walk even twice a day. My Dad puts me into the stroller for her, because I am too heavy for her to lift (I am about 21lbs now), and takes me out once we get home again. Here I am wearing an outfit with long pants on a cool day. Thanks for the outfit, Nonna.

Tried Oatmeal Cereal - yuck!
Since it's been one whole week trying rice cereal and I haven't had any allergic reactions, I've moved onto Oatmeal cereal today. I didn't like it very much. I made faces and spit it out. My Mom had to mix it with rice cereal so that I would eat it.

Teething pain strikes again
I don't usually cry with tears or cry inconsolably - a bottle of milk or my pacifier usually does the trick. However last night I was pulling and twisting my ears, sticking my fingers in my mouth and crying with a sad face & tears. My mom thinks she sees a glimpse of white of two bottom teeth in my gums so it is possible that teething pain was striking again. They are still well within the gums but it could be that they are still making their way up and causing me some discomfort. I also didn't eat much cereal and was not myself.

Nonna & Nonno came to visit
Nonno and Nonna came to visit me today. They came with gifts for me which included a Winkz Smart Kid lights and sounds toy which will teach me shapes, colours and parts of the face. It is meant for 18 month olds+ but Nonna thinks that I am a fast learner. I also got a gorgeous red Tommy Hilfiger shirt, and matching pants. Thank-you so much Nonna & Nonno.

My first taste of rice cereal
Today I tried my first very taste of Baby Rice cereal. I really liked it - yum! It was Beechnut brand.
A video from my 1st taste of cereal
The Doctor said to start cereal with me at six months old. My Grandparents were visiting just after I turned 6 months old, so my grandma gave me my first taste of rice cereal.

Ali visited today
Ali visited today. He is the son of my mom's parent's friends. He brought my parents a nice cake. It was very kind of him. The poor guy's car broke down so first he waited around hoping it would get fixed in time for him to return home, but when it couldn't he went home by train. He will probably come back on Saturday to pick his car up.

I had my 6 month visit to the Doctor today
My appointment is a few days early (before I actually turn 6 months old) because the Doctor is away on vacation next week. I had 2 vaccinations today ... and I didn't even cry. I had to be very very brave, especially for my Dad who might have started bawling his eyes out. I am officially 71cm long and weigh 9.3kg (20.5lbs). The circumference around my noggin is 44.1cm. The paediatrician told my parents to remember ROBM, a mnemonic to represent Rice, Oatmeal, Barley, & Mixed. This is the order in which to try cereals with me one week at a time. They are supposed to mix it with milk and give me 3 tablespoons in the morning and 3 at night. At seven months at 1pm, they should start adding a feeding of mashed veggies, starting with the non leafy types such as carrots, zucchini, squash, then spinach, cabbage, broccoli. The reason to try the leafy ones later is that they are gas producing and may upset my stomach a little.
